My Husband Made Me Give Blood to Her – While I Was Carrying His Baby Chapter 07
[Summer’s POV]
Only a month had passed, yet Evan looked years older. He was thin and pale, with hollow eyes, and he moved like a ghost.
The eyes I had once loved now held nothing but exhaustion and regret.
“We need to finalize the Marital Settlement Agreement. What do you want to do with the apartment?”
He remained silent for a long time, and the final flicker of hope in his eyes faded.
“The deed is in your name. Sell it and keep the money.”
Years earlier, he had placed the property solely in my name because he wanted me to feel secure. Once, he truly had loved me.
I nodded. “All right.”
I was glad I had left so decisively. It had made the break cleaner.
“Summer…” he said, his voice trembling.
“I’m sorry. I brought those toxic people into our home and let them order you around. I never defended you. Sometimes I knew what they were doing was wrong, but I was too weak to stop them.”
“Yes, you were. You were too weak to protect your own wife.”
I held his gaze, unable to hide my contempt. “You knew how deeply they were hurting me. You had countless chances to intervene, yet you chose silence every time.”
“You didn’t merely fail to stop them. You joined them, and you hurt me more than any of them ever could.”
“Evan, you never deserved to be my husband or the father of my child.”
I walked away. I heard him sob behind me, but I never turned around.
