My Alpha Said Get Out—So I Did Chapter 01
Liora’s POV
Ever since I was a child, the thing Alpha Silas Calder had said to me most often was:
“Get out.”
We’d been together for years, and I thought he just liked being alone—that he didn’t enjoy interacting with people.
So I never really took his words to heart.
It wasn’t until the night before our bonding ceremony that I accidentally heard the lullaby he’d recorded for his assistant, Tessa Blythe.
At the end of the recording, his deep, magnetic Alpha voice carried a tenderness I had never heard before.
“Sleep, my little moonbeam, close your eyes tonight~”
I rushed into his study, ready to confront him.
But before I could get a single word out, those cold words hit me again.
“Get out.”
When I heard that, I didn’t argue.
I just turned and walked away.
Silas didn’t know—after that “Get out,” I was never coming back.
I packed my bags and walked out of the room.
I happened to see Silas coming out of the study for water.
He noticed the suitcase in my hand.
His cold gaze swept over me, utterly indifferent.
Only after he’d finished his water did he bother to look at me, as if granting me a favor.
“You were looking for me earlier.
Something you needed?”
Hearing that, my fingers trembled slightly.
So he’d known I had something to say.
And he’d still told me to get out without a second thought.
“Nothing.” My throat was dry, but I spoke anyway. “I just wanted to tell you—I made your favorite rosemary venison stew this afternoon.
It’s in the fridge.
Don’t forget to—”
His phone rang.
Silas glanced at me and answered.
Tessa’s laughter spilled through the speaker.
“Alpha Silas, I got the lullaby you sent.
It’s really beautiful.
Thank you.”
On Silas’s usually expressionless face, a smile—one even he didn’t seem to notice—flickered across his features.
“As long as you’re happy.
Get some rest tonight.
You have work tomorrow.”
I stood there, listening to him soothe another woman with such gentleness.
And I finally understood.
Silas Calder had plenty of patience.
Just not for me.
My chest ached, sharp and raw.
But I still added, “There’s stew for you in the kitchen.
Remember to eat it.”
He didn’t respond.
He just lowered his eyes and kept talking to Tessa.
“The bakery on Oak Street won’t be open tomorrow morning.
Don’t make a wasted trip.”
Hearing words he’d never once said to me, I froze.
My whole body started shaking.
All the resentment I’d buried over the years finally broke through the surface.
Something was squeezing my chest.
Bitterness spread through every limb, pain so sharp I could barely breathe.
I pressed my palms together.
My voice cracked.
“Silas.”
He ignored me.
Kept chatting with her.
“Silas Calder.”
“Let’s cancel tomorrow’s bonding ceremony.”
“You’re free now
You can be with whoever you want.”
“I—”
He shot me a cold, impatient look.
His brow furrowed, his eyes full of irritation.
“Liora.
Be quiet.
You’re too loud.”
That line hit me like a poisoned blade, straight through my heart.
When we were kids, I’d always follow him around, even when he ignored me.
I’d call out to him with a silly grin—
“Silas.
Alpha Silas.”
Back then, what he said most often was: “Liora, you’re so annoying.” “Liora, get out.”
But my mother, Marianne, always told me that if you gave someone your heart, they’d give you theirs in return.
So I never took his words seriously.
I thought if I loved him enough, someday he’d love me back.
Then I came of age.
Silas said to me, “Liora, I don’t want to waste time looking for a mate.
If you like me, let’s be together.”
No romantic confession.
No flowers.
No gifts.
Nothing.
And I still said yes.
I thought him choosing me was enough.
But even after we were together, he was still impatient.
Every time I talked, shared my day, he’d cut me off.
“Liora.
Get out.”
“Okay.”
My eyes burned.
I bit my lip and swallowed all my pain.
“I won’t bother you anymore.
I won’t like you anymore, either.”
As I said that, Tessa’s cheerful voice came through the phone.
“Alpha Silas, listen—someone’s setting off fireworks near my house!
They’re so beautiful!”
Silas’s eyes softened.
A reluctant, indulgent warmth crept into his voice.
“I heard.
After you watch them, remember to get some sleep.”
I laughed at myself.
I wiped the tears from my eyes.

Then I picked up my suitcase and walked away without looking back.
But just as I closed the door, Silas’s voice came from behind me.
“Liora.
What did you just say?”
I didn’t answer.
I didn’t turn around.
Because this time, I didn’t want to say it to him anymore.
