One Year Dead, I Decide to Visit My Boyfriend in a Dream Chatper 11

I didn’t know how the Dream Keeper found out that Jake had been released on medical grounds.

I warned the Dream Keeper. “You’re already dead. What else can you do? Do you really want to interfere with living people’s affairs with those five minutes?”

“You’re dead too. Why do you still insist on seeing your lover?”

I understood what the Dream Keeper meant.

The Dream Keeper was going to enter a dream.

“Are you going to see your son?”

Instead of answering me, the Dream Keeper said. “Chloe, you know Dream Keepers can accumulate merit, right?”

I nodded.

“Yesterday, I went to the Merit Management Center and traded all the merit I’ve accumulated over a hundred years.”

In the Heaven community, merit was a ghost’s cultivation.

Only when reaching a certain standard could one qualify for reincarnation.

And the amount of Heaven Coins determined one’s status in the next life.

Where there were interests, there were deals. Many ghosts in the community specialized in merit trading.

The more merit one sold, the heavier the wish one could exchange for.

Those ghosts who traded merit had all made great contributions in life or after death, but because of desire, they sold their merit. At best, they would be reincarnated as animals; at worst, they would never be reborn.

This Dream Keeper had actually sold a hundred years of merit in one go. He was crazy.

“What are you doing? It’s not worth it for that Jake. If you really have an idea,

we can figure it out together. And Ryan—he’s still alive. I can ask him to take care of your son.”

The Dream Keeper shook his head and smiled. He pulled the game console out of his pocket. “Hold this for me.”

Then he walked into the dream gate and closed the passage himself.

I waited anxiously outside, wanting to persuade him when he came out.

But five minutes passed, and he didn’t come out.

An hour passed, and he still didn’t come out.

How could his Heaven Coins support such a long dream?

I realized something was wrong and ran over to shout wildly, but no one answered.

Soon, a group of uniformed angels arrived.

They opened the dream gate. The leading angel took out a cloth bag and gestured like a magic trick, and something was immediately sucked into it.

I could only see red light flashing inside the bag, making a lot of noise.

“W – what’s going on?”

I stopped an angel and asked quietly.

The angel said expressionlessly. “The former Dream Keeper, Mason Reed, abused his power. He has become a vengeful spirit and murdered a living person in a dream. He is now under arrest for judgment.”

A vengeful spirit… murdered a living person?

My hand holding the game console trembled violently.

I never imagined that when the Dream Keeper entered the dream this time, he entered Jake’s dream.

His purpose was actually to kill him!

This was a crime that meant complete annihilation.

The angels had left. The Dream Management Office was empty.

I stood there for a long time, unable to recover.

The Dream Keeper had sold all his hundred years of merit. He had obviously foreseen the ending.

But why didn’t he use that merit to punish Jake?

What wish had he actually asked for?

Just as I was lost in thought, someone called me from behind. “Are you Chloe Carter?”

I turned around. A man in a black robe stood behind me, so thin that only his wide clothes remained. His hat covered his head, and I couldn’t see his face at all.

“I am.”

“Someone used merit to make a wish for you. Come with me.”
